Divine Felines at the Brooklyn Museum

Divine Felines, Brooklyn Museum

Besides being aptly, if cleverly, named, Divine Felines at the Brooklyn Museum explores the role of the cat in Ancient Egypt, particularly in mythology, kingship, and the everyday. Cats were revered for their fertility, hunting prowess, ability to protect humans and their property from vermin, regal bearing, and aptitude for staring at nothing. Looking at cats from c. 945 BCE made us want to go home and love our contemporary one right up.
