Just before going to India for the better part of a month, we ate at Tulsi, Hemant Mathur's upscale rendition of the subcontinent in Midtown. Given the intervening time and tastes, some dishes have faded from memory, but not the succulent lamb chops or the sweet-and-lively black pepper and coconut shrimp, which rested atop delightful little disks of crunchy papad.

Great photos! Have you been to Junoon? Which would you recommend? I"m thinking of visiting Tulsi and hopeful that there are vegan dishes for me. :)
ReplyDeleteYup, we have. Of the two, Junoon was fancier and more showboat-y, but we liked the food better at Tulsi.
