Coney Island Creek

Coney Island Creek

Coney Island Creek

Last weekend, we joined the folks from Atlas Obscura and Underwater New York for an exploration of Coney Island Creek as part of Obscura Day. Bootleggers, mobsters, corpses, clandestine toxic waste dumpers, fishermen, and at least one amateur submariner have plied its murky waters. Now it serves as a ship graveyard, where the past rots, breaks up, and drifts out to sea.
