Ganesh Temple Canteen

The Spread, Ganesh Temple Canteen

To properly worship Ganesh, Hindu god and Remover of Obstacles, believers often chant his 1,000 names. At the Ganesh Temple Canteen, located in the temple's basement in Flushing, worshiping South Indian specialties is far simpler: grab some good friends, get in line, shuffle forward patiently, order huge platters of dosas, vadas, idlis, sambars, and chutneys, pay with cash, find a folding chair at one of the many tables, and dig in.

  1. I'm around Flushing, but I've yet to give this canteen a try even though I've heard great reviews. Was the food really spicy?

  2. Nope, definitely not --- mild enough for our friends' two year old, in fact. Let us know what you think!
